Our Commitment to Accessibility

UnityEd Academy is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying relevant accessibility standards.

This commitment is especially meaningful to us given our mission: we serve parents, educators, and advocates who support children with disabilities every day. We hold ourselves to the same standard of inclusion we encourage in schools.

Standards We Follow

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities, including those with visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, and neurological disabilities.

Measures We Take

  • Providing text alternatives for non-text content (alt text on images)
  • Ensuring sufficient color contrast between text and background
  • Designing for keyboard navigation throughout the Site
  • Using semantic HTML to support screen readers
  • Avoiding content that flashes more than three times per second
  • Providing captions and transcripts for video content where applicable
  • Ensuring forms are labeled and error messages are descriptive

Known Limitations

While we strive for full accessibility, some third-party content embedded on our Site (such as Klaviyo forms and Shopify payment interfaces) is outside our direct control. We work with these providers and encourage them to maintain accessible products.
